For this vital role, we’re looking for someone who can coordinate and/or assist in the development and implementation of national, regional broad-base sales initiatives, both tactical and strategic that drives conversion and/or generates revenue from Global Sales managed key accounts. Assist in optimizing deal implementation & activation in through hotel & customer channels and communication vehicles and make sure tactical recommendations meet objectives of initiatives within the regional sales environment. Coordinate production of promotional and program materials and serve as primary contact with key stake holders (internal & customer facing) external agencies and hotels for related projects.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities – (Key Activities)

● As directed by Director of Sales – Canada, assist Key Account Directors with customer implementation projects such as (but not limited to) B2B communications, booking tool set ups and client events

● Assist Key Account Directors with group lead transactions via lead fulfillment coordinator in Manila ensuring all IHG internal audit requirements are maintained.

● Ownership of Key Account Director lead transaction reports with Manila based fulfillment coordinator as well as Rescue ticket system for regional sales team.

● Assist in development of strategic key account sales plans where requested by Account Directors & Director of Sales through the deal creation & implementation process. Works with B2B marketing team on implementation of multi-brand marketing programs in alignment with customer deal implementation plan ensuring effective/efficient use of all available channels, including but not limited to direct mail, e-mail, booking portals, Customer booking tools (EG: Concur), websites, print, hotel, and CRO.

● Ensure each initiative has proper controls in place for accurate measurement and analysis; present results and recommendations for next iteration to manager for approval.

● Provide sales assistance for hotels included in deals with project coordination, liaison with internal departments, generating and tracking results of opportunities sourced to hotels, compilation of internal & external sales reports and serving as a liaison between sellers, customers, commercial teams and hotels.

● Manage day-to-day relationships with vendors, hotels, suppliers evaluating quality of all initiative materials and managing the execution of programs.

● Distribute and track sales solicitations for hotel sales programs (tradeshows, blitzes, client event etc…), contacting hotels as a follow up and maintaining records of responses to obtain maximum participation.

● Maintain records of hotel participation in sales programs and provide accounting with quarterly billing information on all marketing programs.

● Monitor regional sales director budget lines to include estimates, invoice coding and tracking and end of month reconciliation of such projects, and budget planning with the Manager, Sales Operations and Planning.

● Preparing presentation materials, collateral materials and research data as directed by Director of Sales – Canada for customer, hotel & internal presentations as needed. This will include, but is not exclusive of working with PowerPoint, Excel, outside vendors, shipping and receiving.

● Support manager with other sales projects as necessary.

Required Qualifications

Education

Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field of work or an equivalent combination of education and work related experience.

Experience

3-5 years progressive work related experience within a hotel sales team, or within a company travel department or similar environment, with demonstrated technical proficiency and understanding of one or more functions related to position.

Technical Skills and Knowledge

● Demonstrated clear, concise and succinct communication skills, including adapting both verbal and written communication to the needs and level of user. Demonstrated ability to communicate supportive program details (presentation, analysis) to present a persuasive argument or to effectively negotiate a sales position.

● Demonstrated time management skills, attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks/clients required.

● Demonstrated ability to maintain a consistent, high quality customer-focused orientation, including providing clear, accurate information; explaining procedures or materials or providing supplemental information; anticipating problems or questions.

● Demonstrated strong computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Delphi, and Outlook.

● Demonstration of computer skills with automated RFP systems, Lanyon, opera, meeting broker and Delphi a definite asset.

● Demonstrated basic analytical skills and ability to use the results of analysis to make decisions.

● Demonstrated presentation and facilitation skills.

● Bilingual skills a plus.

Accountability

Annual operating and/or payroll budget(s): $100,000

Decision making responsibilities (Key Decision Rights)

● This position maintains existing relationships with Key Account Directors in an assigned market segment and collaborates with Key Account Directors on how best to meet Regions needs using existing hotel rate structures, group reservation programs, and sales initiatives directed by the market segment. This position independently follows up with Account Directors and/or Accounts and hotels after appropriate course of action is determined and is involved with anticipating the Accounts needs for proactive business solutions.

Internal Key Relationships

● Liaise with other internal departments to ensure integration and collaboration of current sales programs, promotions and initiatives across these departments, such as:

● Director of Sales, Commercial Sales, Global Sales, and FPS

● IHG Departments: Reservations/Service Centers, Global Sales, FPS

External Key Relationships

Accounts: Manage relationship as directed by the Key Account Directors with assigned Accounts.

Company hotels (managed and franchised): coordinate activation of deals for Accounts with individual hotels.

Physical Requirements

Majority of work is performed in a normal office environment.

Travel as needed less than 10% of time.
