Join us as a Business Development Manager - MICE at InterContinental Sydney Double Bay located in Sydney’s leafy green Eastern Suburbs. You’ll have ambition, talent and obviously, some key skills. Because, for this vital role, we’re looking for someone who will report to the Senior Business Development Manager, who will be a strategic and highly driven sales professional who has experience working in the MICE market segment.
You will have relationships with key partners in the MICE market and the ability to account manage but also be driven to prospect and build new business. You will be a self-starter responsible for implementing sales initiatives and strategies in the highly competitive MICE market and also be able to conduct market research and analysis to facilitate focused sales activity. You will be competitive by nature, self-motivated and will work consistently hard to build business for one of the newest luxury hotels in Sydney.
Reporting to the Senior Business Development Manager, we are looking for a strategic, highly driven sales professional who has experience in the MICE market segment. You will be responsible for managing and qualifying leads from all channels for the hotel with a focus on the MICE market segment as well as assisting with sales activities in line with the annual sales and marketing plan to achieve and exceed budget for the hotel. You will have relationships with key partners in the MICE market, including Professional Conference Organisers and Venue Finders, and the ability to account manage but also drive to prospect and build new business.
You will be a strategic and tactical thinker who can establish goals and
objectives, set performance targets and deliver projects on time. Have a dynamic,
vibrant, confident and professional personality with a high standard of
personal presentation. You will need to
be a highly organised, multi-tasker, have high levels of attention to detail a
strong communicator both verbally and written and able to work collaboratively
with multiple stakeholders as well as being passionate about building your
The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years experience in a senior role
within Australasia with a proven track record of success and have untaken
formal Sales Management training with comprehension of Hotel systems and
revenue management principles. You will have experience in a proactive role
developing strong client relationships.
