Your day to day
As Business Development Director you are responsible for the overall function of proactive sales to maximise performance, drive RGI improvements, profitability and return on investment managing sales activity and total revenue generation. You will form strategic external alliances and partners to support the Hotel’s positioning and actively promotes the Hotel and brand through community and professional involvement. You will proactively manage key relationships with General Manager, Director of Sales & Marketing, Sales, Revenue Management, Marketing, Restaurants & Bars, Conference & Events and IHG National & Global Sales and other areas to ensure alignment across the region driving regular communication.You will hit all personal/team sales revenue goals and maximise profitability In conjunction with the Director of Sales and Marketing, you will create, develop and execute on strategies related to short and long term sales performance for the Hotel to ensure total revenue goals are achieved.Under the general guidance and supervision of the Director of Sales and Marketing, and within the limits of established hotel policies and procedures, you will drive total Hotel revenues year round from key market segments.You will create a positive and productive work environment, build, motivate, and support an effective team that delivers results and is highly engaged.This is a senior sales role in a full service hotel with a variety of facilities. This role could works closely with a team of professional sales, marketing, conferencing, events and administrative team members while maintaining open, strategic and fundamentally crucial relationships with Reservations, Revenue, Finance, Food & Beverage and Front Office.
What we need from you
You will have a Bachelor’s degree / higher education qualification ideally in Business or Commerce.You will hold a minimum 1 years' experience in a senior sales capacity within Australasia with a proven track record of success. You will have exceptional written and verbal communication skills.You will have undertaken formal Sales Management training.You will have a fantastic comprehension of Hotel systems and revenue management principles. You will have a high energy level and a passion for customer service, stakeholder management and client relationships.You will have highly developed interpersonal and communication skill combined with the ability to motivate and train others. You will have strong team work skills, self-development focus and a strong drive for results.
