Your day to day

Reporting to the Director of Engineering, you’ll support the day to day engineering operations of the resort to ensure safety and comfort of hotel guests and team members, including the operation of all mechanical and electrical plant and equipment within the resort, and all ongoing and preventative maintenance of all rooms, buildings and public areas.
Working to tight deadlines, it’s a fast-paced role that requires strong organisational and collaborative skills, to ensure that brand standards are met and any federal, state, and/or local regulatory requirements are maintained. You’ll also play a key role in creating a positive and productive work environment; building, motivating and upskilling the Engineering department to ensure they are highly engaged.
With a strong team to support, the day to day of this role will include;
Monitoring and auditing maintenance requests in the system to ensure adherence to response times and resolution
Rostering and management of team manning and budget
Supervising and supporting the engineering team to execute all maintenance requests and assist as required
Provide support to the Resort leadership team in the absence of the Director of Engineering
Day to day management of contractors on site, including quality of work

What we need from you
To be successful in this role you will need to have a strong background and knowledge across a broad range of trades, with electrical skills highly regarded. With 2-3 year experience in a similar role or in a senior engineering capacity within a hotel, resort environment or complex environment, you will have proven ability to manage multiple and varying projects.
You will have the ability to work alongside a team and collaborate with key stakeholders with a sense of urgency. Strategic thinking, the ability to explore new ways of working and an open mind around how we can drive the Engineering Department forward and partner with other areas of the operation to deliver unrivalled guest journeys will be highly advantageous. Flexibility to work a varied roster including, late evenings, weekends and public holidays is also required.
