Your day to day
This exciting position has overall responsibility for the HR department within the property. Crowne Plaza Redondo Beach & Marina Hotel - Is just 7 miles from the Los Angeles International Airport or a short drive to Long Beach Airport. This Beach-Area Hotel is close to the Headquarters and Regional South Bay-Torrance and El Segundo Automotive, Aerospace, Healthcare, Financial and Manufacturing Business. Southern California's major tour attractions are within an hours drive. For mixing work with pleasure, there is no better place! Our newly renovated meeting facilities have over 25,000 sq ft of flexible space with an emphasis on service and convenience. We have 342 Luxury Guest Rooms. As the HR Director you will create programs and events to foster a positive work environment for all employees and support and administer the employee satisfaction survey in conjunction with Corporate Human Resources. You will d esign and facilitate effective training and development programs for employees and coach managers to create and maintain a work environment with high morale and productivity. The HRD conducts new employee orientation to familiarize employees with Company standards, policies, procedures, rules and other employee programs. He/She will p articipate in the preparation of the annual operating budget and financial plans which support the overall objectives of the hotel and promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other departments. Key departmental contacts include all hotel staff, Corporate Human Resources, and Corporate Legal and HR Shared Services/myHR in Atlanta. You may coordinate and administer locally developed specialized recognition programs. Perform other duties as assigned and may serve as manager on duty as required. ind
What we need from you
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Communications, or Business Management, plus 4 years of related training experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred. Some supervisory experience also preferred. Basic knowledge of Microsoft Computer programs; Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc., and Human Resources/Payroll Systems ADP/TimeSaver experience preferred. A Professional HR designation (PHR, SPHR or other) preferred. You must speak fluent English and Spanish with other languages preferred. You may be required to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays.
