Australia’s most iconic private island welcomed a new era of luxury when IHG opened InterContinental Hayman Island Resort on 1 July 2019. As we continue to grow our team, we are currently seeking the perfect fit for roles in our Guest Activities team to deliver a truly exceptional and unique guest journey. Sports & Leisure Attendants who will assist our guests with non-motorised water sports and land based activities, focusing on creating experiences and memories that will enhance their on island journey.

Your day to day
If you’re charismatic, approachable and know what it takes to exceed guest expectations, this is your opportunity to work in this unique environment and fast track your career. As a Sports & Leisure Attendant, your day to day will involve;
Instructing guests in the use of non-motorised water sports including catamarans, windsurfers, kayaks and stand up paddles.
Instructing and guiding guests in land based activities including nature walks, sports events, , and mountain bike tours.
Ensuring all equipment is well maintained and cleaned and reporting any defects, replacements, problems or maintenance requirements.
Daily set up and pack down of all non-motorised and land based equipment and activities.
Maximising opportunities to promote and upsell activities on island.
Assisting across the team as required.

What we need from you
Ideally, you will have 1-2 years of previous experience in a guest activities role or similar within a luxury setting and be passionate about creating unique experiences. With a preference to work outdoors alongside marine life and the natural environment your preference, your exposure to wider hotel and resort operations will be advantageous. With strong communication skills and the ability to think outside the box, you’re also physically fit and able to lift equipment and items as needed facilitate day to day activities.
You will need to hold you current first aid certificate, including oxygen and the appropriate work rights to work within Australia, and be available to relocate to the island and work on a flexible roster which will include weekends and evenings.
