We are currently seeking to hire a dynamic Chief Engineer to join Crowne Plaza Doha - West Bay.

Crowne Plaza Doha - West Bay has 280 rooms and 37 suites, ranging from the Executive Suite to the spectacular Royal Suite, Crowne Plaza Doha - West Bay will delight even the most discerning traveler. Its location, which is just 20 Km from Hamad International Airport, allows guests easy access to Qatar’s financial, shopping and diplomatic district. In a few minutes, guests can reach Doha City Center Mall, Corniche promenade, restaurants, and the best evening entertainment, as well as the city’s impressive skyline.

Award-winning Signature by Sanjeev Kapoor made its Qatari debut, offering Indian fine dining with a modern twist. Your day-to-day

  • To organize and monitor administration and communication with all technical employees within the Engineering department in order to provide a tangible interface with other operational departments.

  • Receives and records all requests and issues to Engineering Department.

  • Monitors the speed at which requests & issues are attended and provide a job completed and outstanding report on a daily basis.

  • Completes all illness notifications, termination forms etc., within preset time-frame.

  • Ensures all attendance sheets are completed by set payroll date.

  • Monitors planned maintenance against bar chart on a weekly basis.

  • Keeps daily records of purchase requests etc. and monitors progress order stage.

  • Controls completed work registers and monitors progress- to- order stage where necessary. When purchase orders are completed or when the job is complete, to send copies of the completed works register to Financial Controller.

  • To ensure all external contractors are logged in/out of the Hotel when they commence and finish work.

  • To keep daily records of Hotel energy consumption and review them with the Finance Team.

  • To be the department communication point.

  • To maintain information on the movement and appointment of Key employees within the Engineering department.

  • Maintains records of number of employees and company names/contractors working within the Hotel.

Financial Returns

  • Participate in the preparation of the annual departmental operating budget and financial plans.

  • Lead hotel renovations and other projects, negotiate contracts, and ensure timely completion of projects within budget.

  • Monitor budget and control expenses with a focus on energy management, preventive maintenance, and capital planning.


  • Direct day-to-day staffing requirements, plan and assign work, and establish performance and development goals for team members. Provide mentoring, coaching, and regular feedback to help manage conflict and improve team member performance.

  • Educate and train team members in compliance with governmental and safety regulations. Ensure colleague is properly trained on quality and has the tools and equipment to carry out job duties.

  • Ensure a safe and secure environment for guests, team members in compliance with regulatory policies and procedures. Maintain relations with outside contacts including guests, regulatory agencies, others as needed.

Guest Experience

  • Understand and response to customer’s needs and ensure a high level of guest satisfaction.

  • Carry out preventive maintenance program to ensure facility and in service for our guests.

Responsible Business

  • Maintain and order parts and supplies in a timely and efficient manner while minimizing waste and maintaining “green” initiatives.

  • Maybe responsible for hotel security to minimize risk of theft, crime and other hazards.

  • Perform other duties as assigned, may also serves as manager on duty.


Ideally, you'll have a Bachelors' degree and qualification in Engineering with a minimum of 10 years experience, coupled with excellent communications skills, written & oral proficiency in English and presentation skills. Knowledge of local language and culture is preferred. Strong Leadership skills in managing teams to drive for results.
