Kirkton Park Hotel Hunter Valley is looking for a Part Time Stewarding Team Leader to join our Kitchen team!
Kirkton Park Hotel Hunter Valley is on a journey to become the Boutique Hotel destination to have the quintessential Hunter Valley Experience. Located in the heart of Pokolbin, our stunning property is set on 70 acres of rural surroundings, including manicured gardens and a vegetable garden complete with pigs, chickens and picturesque surroundings. Our journey is expanding in 2019 so now is the perfect time to be part of this amazing property!
Your day to day
Under the direction of our Kitchen Leaders, you will be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness, sanitation and order of all kitchen areas, storerooms and the hotel loading dock, in addition to a maintaining a constant supply of equipment and clean utensils for our food and beverage outlets and ensuring. Your duties will include:
Undertaking general kitchen duties such as collecting all rubbish, maintaining the cleanliness of bins and the rubbish room and undertaking other additional cleaning tasks and schedules
Checking and ensuring the correction application of chemicals
Ensuring all food deliveries into hotel are received and stored and rotated in the correct way
All storerooms and cool-rooms are clean, tidy and orderly at all times
Ensuring all daily and weekly HACCP tasks are completed to the required standard
Assisting in the training of current and new colleagues in the correct food handling techniques and HACCP tasks.
This role will require you to carry, lift and push items such as plates, trolleys, garbage bins as well as handling food products, utensils, chemicals and cleaning detergents.
Please note this role will primarily be required to work across a rotating roster in accordance with business needs. This will include afternoon/evening shifts, across a rotating roster which includes weekends and public holidays.
What we need from you
To be successful in this role you will possess the following skills:
Previous experience within a kitchen environment, preferably within a hotel.
Ability to work independently and also within a team
Possess great attention to detail
Time management skills
Superior communication skills
High standard of personal presentation
The flexibility to work various shifts on a rotating roster including evenings, overnights, weekends and public holidays.
