the InterContinental New York Barclay re-opened in spring 2016, following

an extensive renovation as the city’s luxury hotel of choice. Located off Park

Avenue in midtown east, The Barclay features 702 beautifully-designed

guestrooms with 30 suites, an opulent Presidential Suite and Penthouse Sky

Suite with 1,500 feet of outdoor space and Chrysler Building views. The

hotel boasts 15,000 square feet of meeting space and two large

ballrooms for New York’s most memorable weddings, benefits, and

In this role you will sell hotel room nights through direct client contact; Implement hotel-level tactical sales plans as assigned and produce monthly reports and sales forecasts for assigned area of responsibility. You will develop and maintain good relationships with officials and representatives of local community groups and companies, and attend out-of-town conventions and trade shows, to promote new business and increase sales for the hotel. You will actively participate in forecasting and goal setting and in the annual budget process, and development of sales and marketing plans.

Qualifications

Requirements include a Bachelor's degree in marketing or related field, and 4 years total experience working with a large or a variety of market segments, or an equivalent combination of education and experience in a hospitality or hotel sales and marketing setting. You must be able to travel to attend workshops, tradeshows, conventions, etc. and may be required to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays.
