In this role you will manage the day-to-day activities of the housekeeping department; plan, schedule, and organize work to ensure proper coverage while you communicate and enforce policies and procedures. The Executive Housekeeper will make sure all staff are properly trained and have the tools and equipment needed to effectively carry out their respective job duties and develop and implement procedures for managing quality of housekeeping and laundry services. He/She will control expenses within all areas of housekeeping and participate in the preparation of the annual departmental operating budget and financial plans which support the overall objectives of the hotel. Each day you will conduct pre-shift meeting and review information pertinent to the day's activities. and establish par levels for supplies and equipment. Replenish shortages and other business supplies for daily business. You may assist with deep cleaning projects and/or assist housekeeping staff during unanticipated rush periods and may serve as "manager on duty" as required.
Qualifications include High School Diploma or equivalent plus 4 years housekeeping/laundry experience, preferably in a hotel of similar size and complexity, including one or more years of supervisory experience. Some college preferred. Must speak fluent English, with ability to speak other languages is preferred. You may be required to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays.
This job requires ability to perform the following: carrying or lifting items weighing up to 50 pounds and pushing and/or pulling approximately 200 pounds, frequently standing up and moving about the facility, frequently handling objects and equipment to maintain the facility, frequently bending, stooping and kneeling.
