InterContinental Hayman Island Resort in the Great Barrier Reef is an ultra-luxury private island resort currently undergoing restoration and construction works. Whilst the resort is not open to guests until early-mid 2019, we are seeking engaged and motivated professionals to be a part of our rebuilding and reopening team. We currently have an opportunity for a RO Maintenance Technician to join the team on this exciting journey.

Your day to day
If you'd like to embrace a wider world of experiences and opportunities, we'd like to welcome you to the world's most international luxury hotel brand as the on Island RO Maintenance Technician; a key role in our dynamic live on island team who looking after the island's plant and utilities. Reporting to the Engineering Management , this role ensures the Resort water supply levels remain high and the RO function like clockwork.
Your key duties and responsibilities will include:
Maintaining the Reverse Osmosis plant and the associated reticulation network
Maintaining the water quality to meet Australia drinking water guidelines and the continued supply of potable water to the Resort
Performing daily laboratory water testing and record keeping
Performing routine maintenance on all water treatment pumps, filtration systems and associated hardware as required
Assisting with operations and maintenance of the sewage treatment plant when required
Ensuring all tasks required are executed to maintain compliance with state and commonwealth legislation, and local council laws
Assisting in any after hour emergencies that may arise around resort
Working as needed to assist the wider Engineering team
What we need from you
The ideal candidate will hold a Certificate III in Water Operations or similar, Queensland General Safety Induction Card (White Card) and current open driver's licence. They'll have an understanding of Microsoft Office, Email and other reporting tools like HotSos and HardCat. In addition to building equipment and hand tools, you’ll also require working knowledge of industrial and domestic plant and equipment. They must also hold the appropriate work rights to work within Australia.
Please note, the resort is currently a construction site with strict policies in place, including drug and alcohol policies, to ensure the health and safety of all team members.
