To deliver agreat guest experience – A Mixologist will serve food and beverages in a timelymanner, helping guests to have memorable experiences whenever and wherever theyare.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Serves guests theirfood and beverage in prompt, courteous manner as per the standard sequence ofservice.

  • Ensurethat the outlet is clean, neat and tidy and ready to accept guests.

  • Up-sellor promote all specials advertised in the outlet as well promoting slow movingitems. To have a thorough understanding and knowledge of all food and beverageitems in the menu and the ability to recommend Food & Beverage combinationsand up sell alternatives.

  • Responsiblefor all side duties described in the job task check list and to complete all side work prior to the openingand closing of the restaurant

  • To stockall supplies & glassware ordered by the bar manager.

  • Toapproach guests suggesting a cocktail/wine or non-alcoholic beverages andrecommending promotional items.

  • Tomaintain knowledge of bar inventory and wine selection to respond properly toguest questions.

  • Tomaintain a thorough knowledge of beverage recipes and mixing procedures.

  • To beable to entertain the guests with freestyle, mixology and creating cocktails.

  • To beable to create new cocktails on the spot.

  • To havean extensive knowledge of cocktails and mocktails.

  • Toinform guests of last call.

  • Tomaintain proper bar cleanliness.

  • Toassist in maintaining responsibility for the set up and cleanliness of entirebar and adjoining lounge area at all times.

  • Toarrange furniture in the bar area as needed.

  • Todisplay beverage selection in an attractive manner.

  • Toensure that the bar is stocked with “mise-en-place” and kept clean and tidy atall times.

  • To havethorough knowledge of how to handle intoxicated individuals.

  • Toensure that bar guests receive their orders promptly and courteously.

  • Toinsure proper garnishing of drinks.

  • Checksperiodically with guests to see if they would like anything else.

  • Topresent the check to the guests according to the outlet standards.

  • To beknowledgeable of all ingredients and prices of the food and beverage listed onthe menu.

  • Tofollow the cash handling procedures and process all guest orders through MICROSbefore any dish or beverage is served.

  • Tomonitor operating supplies and reduce spoilage and wastage.

  • Tohandle guest enquiries in a courteous and efficient manner and report guestcomplaints or problems to supervisors if no immediate solution can be found andassure follow up with guests.

  • Attends work ontime as scheduled.

  • Acquires a workingknowledge of hotel, in-house facilities and local information to respond toguest questions in these areas as required.

  • Demonstratesteamwork by cooperating and assisting co-workers as needed.

  • Tohandle all food, beverage and operating equipment with care, in order tominimize breakage / wastage

  • Ability to rotatethroughout each of the food & beverage outlets

  • Performsall duties and responsibilities in a timely and efficient manner in accordancewith established company policies and procedures to achieve overall objectivesof this position.

  • Tounderstand and strictly adhere to the Rules & Regulations established inthe Employees Handbook and the Hotel’s policy on Fire, Hygiene, Health &Safety.

  • Toensure that all potential and real hazards are reported and rectifiedimmediately.

  • Tounderstand and strictly adhere to the Hotel’s Employee rules & regulations.

  • Performsany other duties as assigned to him/her by management.

  • Preferably tertiary qualification in Hospitality Management.


  • 1-2 yearsprevious experience in a similar position or a related field with a proventrack record of success.

  • Knowledge ofLounge and Bar operations.

  • Experience in a 5star luxury hotel company is essential.


  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills in English,particularly to deal effectively with people from diverse backgrounds.

  • High level of interpersonal skills and integrity; seen as aneutral and fair individual.

  • Ability to build strong working relationships, internal andexternal to the organization.

  • Effective time management, prioritization and organization skills,which will be evident when working under pressure and to deadlines.

  • Strong problem solving abilities as well as the initiative to workindependently when necessary.

  • Maintainshigh confidentiality in regards to guest privacy and any related Hotel matters.
