Join us as a Sales and Marketing Coordinator. You’ll have ambition, talent and experienced sales/ marketing skills. As part of this critical team role, we’re looking for someone who can be proactive, shows team initiative, is driven for results and enjoys a diverse role where no two days are the same.

Reporting to the Director of Sales and Marketing you will be working across the sales, marketing and events sales teams, supporting each area with activities in line with the annual sales and marketing plan to achieve/exceed budget for the National Convention Centre Canberra. Additionally, you will be instrumental in assisting with sales and marketing reports, new business generation, market intelligence and overall administrative support.

The role is unique as it involves exposure to selling the destination, the National Convention Centre Canberra as a venue and the crossover to the broader IHG portfolio. This is the perfect role for the successful candidate who has strong administrative, numeric and communication skills, enjoys learning about many areas of the business/industry, looks to deepen their experience and loves working in a dynamic team environment.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have minimum 2 years experience in a proactive sales/marketing role, working in either a larger meetings hotel, venue with events space, convention centre background or related industry experience in general sales and marketing.

Some key skills and experiences required:

  • Ability to work in a fluid and changing environment

  • Is a team player; within their own team and within the broader organisation

  • Proactive approach in dealing with clients and industry; task focused, outcome orientated

  • Microsoft office, excel, powerpoint and Delphi (Salesforce/CRM equivalent preferred)

  • Strong administrative, numeric and communication skills

  • Positive attitude, friendly and professionally presented

  • Highly self motivated and keen to learn
