As a Human Resources Intern your essential job function is to support our Human Resources Department with administrative duties, provide basic employee assistance and serve as the initial point of contact for human resources-related matters.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Prepare materials for employee orientation, training sessions, and employee recognition programs or events.
Meet with new employees to review new hire paperwork for accuracy and completeness.
Assist in the communication and administration of employee benefit programs; distribute information and forms to employees.
Assist with the recruitment process which may include tracking, filing of resumes and applications, scheduling interviews, processing background, employment verification and reference checks, correspondences to candidates, solicited resumes and/or applicants
Assist with updating in-house communications, bulletin boards and slide shows.
Maintain and update employee records and files (including personnel forms and files, Leave of Absence forms and files, Worker’s Compensation files,etc.)
Assist employees with MyHR/Workday access, password resets and basic functions.
Complete weekly and bi-weekly payroll processing duties.
Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other department.
Follow all Hotel Policies and Procedures
Represent the Human Resources Office by welcoming visitors and following the InterContinental Boston and Forbes Service Standards.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Must be enrolled in a college level Human Resources or Hotel/Hospitality Management Program. 6 months experience in Human Resources, Administrative Support or other equivalent hotel experience preferred. Must speak fluent English. Other languages preferred. Must be detail oriented, be able to follow instructions and proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Publisher.
