At the moment we're looking for a Manager, Finance & Business Support - Shared Services to join our fun and energetic team at Bangkok Office.

Job Summary

You'll review,

analyze and advise Director of Finance & Business Support, Shared Services,

Thailand & Indochina and regional Management Team of the performance of

Holiday Inn Express hotels. You'll liaise on a

regular/monthly basis with hotel General Manager on month end / long term plans

/ budgeting and forecasting issues. You'll maximize profitability of hotels through benchmarking / best practices

and ensures sound controls and accounting standards are in place as per company

Policy & Procedures to safeguard assets and return to the owners.

You'll work as a key member of the Finance & Business Support team to provide the

Regional Heads of Finance with specific support and services for pre-opening

hotels (or hotel conversion to IHG brand), to facilitate smooth hotel openings

and transit them into operations. You'll ensure new opening hotel finance is set up

in accordance to the HMA, local law and uniform system of accounts, with

consistency in processes (IHG’s standards) across the region. You'll apply best

practice in hotel finance systems setup and integration to deliver accurate and

timely management reporting and analysis to positively impact the hotels’

decision making capabilities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensureintegrity and accuracy of accounts is maintained in PeopleSoft System to meetdeadline by working closely and overseeing the India based BSC team.

  • Reviewthe monthly variance analysis reports prepared by the India based BSC teambefore submission.

  • Reviewthe monthly Profit & Loss trend to ensure consistent reporting.

  • EnsureGeneral Ledger accounts that relate to all Holiday Inn Express hotels arereconciled monthly by the BSC team.

  • SupportShared Services Hotel accounting for Singapore / Indonesia / Malaysia &Thailand PeopleSoft hotels.

  • Followup on all capital expenditures to ensure compliance with original justificationand approval within the limit of updated IHG Global DOA.

  • Evaluateexisting internal control measures that apply to accounting procedures andcomputer systems as per IHG Policies and Procedures, assist in internal auditswhen it occurs within the Holiday Inn Express hotels and Shared Services.

  • Reviewand analyze Long Term Plans / Annual Plans / Forecasts of Hotels to ensure theyare robust and attainable and challenges hotel teams accordingly

  • Monitorperformance of hotels through internal and external benchmarking and flowthrough and analysis of key indicators to ensure returns are maximized.

  • Highlightsuccesses and issues for Director of F&BS, Shared Services and RegionalGeneral Managers/Director of Operations follow up.

  • Ensurethat hotel forecast and budget are robust and reasonable, ensure necessaryactions are taken in case of shortfalls and long term goals can be setadequately.

  • Ensurethat the internal controls in hotels are set-up in accordance with local lawand uniform system of accounts to ensure uniformity throughout the region

  • Performannual assessment of hotel Control Self Assessment (CSA).Review Internal Audit reports and follow upon all recommended action plans during hotel visits to ensure appropriateinternal controls are in place.

  • EnsureIHG Policy & Procedures and Delegation of Authority followed properly tominimize risks.

  • Monitorand follow up IHG Receivable collection issues in coordination with Director ofF&BS and Business Service Centre, India to ensure all hotel dues are paidto IHG timely and all disputed charges properly identified and resolved.

  • Performall task and duties of a hotel controller if assigned to a hotel location on atemporary basis.

  • Providetask force support to “in need” hotel or newly opened hotel as directed by theCompany.

  • Undertakeother duties and responsibilities as required by the Director of F&BS insupport of the IHG Southeast Asia strategic direction.

  • BuildHotel Finance Management System according to IHG Standard & requirements

  • Implementationof IHG Accounting Policies & Procedures

  • Support/assistthe Finance & Business Support team in the new opening/re-brandinghotels

  • Provideregular feedback on milestones achievement and timely escalation of issues toRegional/Area Head of Finance and GM

  • Assumea hands on role in pre-opening hotel finance support, including but not limitedto –

  1. Assist with thedrafting of Pre-Opening Budget and determining minimum pre opening bank accountbalance for HMA (Hotel Management Agreement) input for new hotels opening andrebranding hotels

  2. Onboarding theDirectors of Finance and Business Support in the new openings / rebrandinghotels

  3. Provide training andsupport to the hotel finance team on IHG reporting requirements duringpreopening period

  4. Drives and ensureefficiency and consistency in the finance systems setup and finance operationsprocesses and financial reporting across AMEA region

  • Undertakeother duties as directed by the Director of Finance & Business, HotelsOpening, AMEA.


Ideally you'll have a Bachelor in Business Administration or

Commerce / Accounting Degree with minimum of 7 year of experience as Hotel

Finance & Administration. Preopening / Conversion & Shared Service experience


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong management, communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Being a Finance Lead in the department with Strong hotelOperations & process knowledge

  • Strong reporting Skills

  • Deadline-Oriented and good Time Management

  • Proficient in the use of PMS Opera, Infrasys / MicrosSymphony POS, SUN Accounting system & Materials control system or MarketBoomer

  • Expert in Excel

  • Proficient at statistical analysis and able to meetdeadlines.

  • Advance level of English required for both written andverbal communication.

  • Availability for moderate travel.
