- Follow procedures to (1) ensure thesecurity and proper storage of liquor, bar inventory and equipment, (2)ensure the security of monies, credit and financial transactions (obtain,count and secure bartender’s bank; receive cash and credit payments fromguests; give accurate change and balance cash drawer at end of shift), (3)order and/or replenish/requisition supplies, inventory, uniforms, etc. ina timely and efficient manner, and (4) minimize waste and breakage ofglassware and supplies.Inventoryunused liquor and beverages.
Monitor performance of employees scheduledduring shift and recommend and/or initiate disciplinary actions in accordancewith company rules and policies.Reportserious issues to respective management for follow-up.
Promote teamworkand quality service through daily communication and coordination withother shifts and departmental management.
Interact withoutside contacts:
Guests – toensure their total satisfaction
Regulatoryagencies, law enforcement or local government authorities – regardingsafety and compliance matters
Other contactsas needed (Professional organizations, community groups, local media)
Ensure all staff is properly trained, and certified as required,and have the tools and equipment needed to effectively carry out their jobfunctions.
Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communicationand coordination with other departments.
Greet guests pleasantly as they approach the bar; promote housedrinks and utilize up-selling skills whenever possible to maximizerevenues.
Prepare beverages requested by guests. Adhere to establishedpouring standards and drink recipes to provide a consistent product to theguests and to control costs.Makeappropriate service recovery gestures according to established guidelinesin order to ensure total guest satisfaction.
Monitor guest behavior and guest alcoholconsumption to determine when alcohol service to the guest should cease;notify management of incidents involving excessive alcohol consumption orimpaired condition of customers; check identification whenever the age ofa guest requesting an alcoholic beverage service is questionable.
Set up bar including all liquor, mixers,ice, garnishes, glassware and supplies.Perform pre- and post-shift side-work (empty/fill ice-bins, preparegarnishments, replenish/store snacks, etc.).
Inspect bar daily for cleanliness and attractiveness and inspectall equipment and machinery for proper operation in the different outlets, RSVC, Club lounge, Bar.Sweep and mop bar floor aftershift.Wipe down counters,equipment, stools, chairs, tables, and other areas as required.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications include High School diploma or equivalent and at least 1-2 years restaurant management experience in a full service outlet or similar setting. Hospitality Management Degree or some college preferred. You may need an alcohol awareness certification and/or food service permit or valid health/food handler cards as required by local or state government agency.
You may be required to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays. This job requires ability to perform the following: handling, carrying or pushing items weighing up to 50 pounds, moving about the outlet(s), handling objects, products; bending, stooping, and kneeling.
