Job Summary – (Role Summary)
The VP, Revenue Management will
provide direction, oversight and revenue management leadership for the Americas
region, including regional revenue manager support and revenue management
services. Provide strategic direction to
ensure a wide range of program and service offerings exist to ensure effective
revenue management is implemented at the hotel level. Oversee activities of Americas based regional
revenue managers to provide support and
implementation of revenue strategies for managed, owned, leased and franchise
properties utilizing regional revenue management support to maximize revenue
and profit streams. Oversee revenue management services program to ensure
portfolios of hotels receive all facets of pricing, demand analysis, yield
management, market segmentation, business mix optimization, selling strategies
and tactics to maximize revenue and profit stream. Engage hotel and regional operations
leadership and facilitate the successful implementation of revenue management
strategies and systems for assigned hotels to ensure the successful delivery of
revenue and market share targets. Accomplish goals and objectives through
technical and professional staff.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities– (Key Activities)
Providestrategic leadership to ensure a wide range of RM services and consultingexists for hotels.Evaluate andmonitor services to ensure they remain applicable over time.
Integrate withGlobal teams to ensure consistent processes and procedures are implementedglobally, and that best practices are shared amongst regions.
Providebusiness input and thought leadership around all revenue management (andrevenue management related) initiatives. Work closely with RevenueManagement Analytics and Strategy, and Systems and Tools teams to ensuresystem revenue management functionality is world class.
Create acenter of excellence for sourcing revenue management talent, hiring, andonboarding to ensure continuous excellence in services delivered.
Evolve feestructure and ensure correct cost recovery models are in place to ensurelong term success of services and regional revenue management teams.
Direct,Regional Revenue Managers and Service Teams on revenue maximization toachieve the utilization of the Company’s Global Business Serviceresources; Revenue Management, E-commerce, Distribution, LoyaltyMarketing, Reservations (MACRO), and Global Sales.
Driveimplementation of brand pricing strategies, yield strategies, sellingstrategies and revenue management best practices for portfolios ofhotels.Investigate and communicatenew ways to capture optimal revenue potentials.Provide feedback to Global Brand Servicedepartments to ensure revenue-generating improvements are incorporatedinto system and strategy enhancements or best practices.
Deploy revenueperformance strategies and metrics to assist portfolios of hotelsand Operations teams with strategicsales, pricing and product position. Ensure RevGen Index and revenueperformance goals are achieved.
Developrelationships with the Operations Leadership, and key company stakeholdersto ensure revenue management strategies are communicated and implementedin a consistent manner.Assist inresolving complex issues with key decision-makers at the hotel level.
Create andmaintain relationships with the IAHI, Owners, Principle Correspondents,and others to ensure that Revenue management processes and principles areimplemented correctly.
Supportmarketing program/product implementation as needed or requested.
Plan,organize, control and lead subordinate functions within establishedbudgetary and manpower plans; establish goals, performance standards, andoperating procedures for assigned functions.Participate in creation of departmentstaffing and capital budgets.
Lead, developand direct Americas Regional Revenue Management and Revenue ManagementServices teams; hire, fire, assess, discipline, document performance,recommend salary and classification changes.Act as an advisor to subordinatemanagers or staff to help meet established schedules and/or resolvetechnical or operational problems.

Education – Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Hotel Management,
Business, Statistics, Marketing, Finance, or a relevant field of work, or an
equivalent combination of education and work-related experience.
Experience – 15 years progressive work-related experience in
hotel operations management, revenue management, or consulting, with
demonstrated proficiency in central reservations systems and revenue management
systems, preferably HOLIDEX Plus and PERFORM, including knowledge and
experience in hotel pricing concepts, yield management optimization, selling
strategies, and business analysis.
7 to 10 years of experience in managing teams and/or
significant complex projects.
Technical Skills and Knowledge –
Demonstratedeffective verbal and written communication skills for the purpose ofproviding information to clients, vendors, senior management and staff.Demonstrated ability to build and manage relationships with franchiseesand hotel owners.Demonstratedeffective conflict management/resolution and negotiation/persuasion skillsto persuade GM’s, Principal Correspondents and other hotel representativesto modify or implement various corporate-sponsored programs andinitiatives.
Demonstratedexperience with industry and market trends as they relate to revenueopportunities, and demonstrated ability to drive revenue.
Demonstratedknowledge of effective hotel pricing concepts, yield managementoptimization and selling strategies, and ability to determine whichconcepts to apply in given market conditions.
Demonstratedexperience in industry training, including preparation, implementation anddelivery of training programs.
Demonstratedanalytical skills and ability to use the results of analysis to makeeffective strategic decisions.
Strongknowledge of CRS and RMS (HOLIDEX Plus and PERFORM preferred).Good understanding of other integratedsystems, such as PMS, GDS, CRO tools, Offline Reporting, Internet, etc.
