J ob Summary(Role Summary)

Develop and manage content strategies for web content for both

brand-specific and multi-brand audiences in order to (1) increase channel

adoption by existing customers and (2) increase overall demand for our brands’

offerings online. Content initiatives

include stand-alone initiatives as well as integrated programs designed to

enhance existing content across brand and loyalty web sites. Responsible for developing and managing all

processes and best practices tied to how the Company hotels and internal

Company groups produce content for the web channel. Ensure that the key value proposition components of the Company’s direct web channel

are incorporated into all brands messaging where appropriate. Identify content gaps addressing

opportunities to influence future booking behavior. Work with content development

resources (internal and external) to ensure the consistent development of high

quality visual and written content as necessary to support the strategy.

Develop, validate and

enforce the distribution strategy & processes for all web content.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities(Key Activities)

  • Responsible for developing and leading contentstrategy across all brand sites. Content responsibilities can includehotel specific, brand specific, multi-brand, industry specific andpromotional content.

  • Works with internal stakeholders to ensurecontent strategies are aligned with business goals, brand voice andmerchandising needs

  • Works with agencies & internal resourcesto develop visual and written content as necessary to support strategy

  • Develop and enforce best practices as itrelates to content for the web channel.

  • Documents processes relating to contentdevelopment, maintenance, distribution and governance. Enforces processesas necessary.

  • Manages relationships with content vendors

  • Ensures content development is in line withother marketing calendars and is complimentary of efforts across marketingteams.

  • Work with regional counterparts to ensurestrategies and on-going content development is properly localized anddeveloped

  • Partner with consumer insights, analytics,regional teams, etc. to understand and act upon travel and hotel industryneeds through content strategy across sites.

  • Ensure content strategy and developmentefforts are aligned with other key web priorities and goals, such assearch engine optimization.




or Master's Degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, or a

relevant field of work, or an equivalent combination of education and

work-related experience.



years progressive work-related experience in content strategy, interactive marketing or

similar, with a minimum of 4 years professional-level experience in marketing

and demonstrated experience designing content strategies required.


Skills and Knowledge –

  • Demonstratedproject management experience in organizing, planning and executinglarge-scale marketing projects from conception through implementation.

  • Demonstratedeffective verbal and written communication skills for the purpose ofproviding information to clients, vendors, senior management and staff

  • Demonstratedability to develop and implement channel marketing content initiatives.Interactive/Internet marketing or agencyexperience preferred.

  • Demonstratedunderstanding of project and product management and supporting methodologies.

  • Demonstratedproficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint required.

  • Demonstrated“Internet literacy” (both theoretical and practical knowledge of how theInternet works, how it can be used for both informational and transactionalpurposes, and the basic evolutionary history of the medium), required.

  • Mustpossess superior problem-solving skills combined with team facilitation skill


Majority of work performed in a

normal office environment.

Some travel required as needed

(less than 10% of time).
