Your day to day

The Head of Global Brand Experience & Design is responsible for the guest experience and design direction of IHG's Holiday Inn brand. Guided by the global brand positioning, the primary initiative is to develop a global and supporting regional strategies and execute business plans that differentiate the brand, increase market share, improve guest satisfaction, and generate profitable revenue and return on investment for our owners. Working closely across IHG, this leader is responsible for product, service and design innovations, while ensuring consistency of agreed brand standards and improvement of operational efficiencies. This leader reports into a VP Brands Management, and leads a team of marketing, guest experience and brand design professionals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Serve as senior business leader to lead development of brand strategies, annual business plans and 3-5 year strategic plans to strengthen the brand positioning and commercial objectives.

  • Acts as the brand champion within the region (across IHG and with Owners).

  • Within the framework established by the Global Brands Team, lead analyses that identifies consumer insights and owner trends and translate into actionable strategies and plans that grow presence within current and targeted markets to increase revenue.

  • Lead the development of innovation pipeline and execution strategy for the brand, including clear definition, monitoring and evaluation of innovation’s impact on performance.

  • Lead the planning, piloting and roll-out of guest experience and design initiatives, brand hallmarks and product/service innovations in the field.

  • Integrate roll-out with global groups as appropriate. Ensure clarity in Brand positioning and review compliance annually.

  • Partner with Global Brand Management to ensure that there is a channel to provide / receive feedback to insure continuous and/or accelerated learning, process/program improvement, increased competitive advantage, and/or maintaining our areas of competitive advantage.

  • Oversee the development and execution of key marketing and design initiatives.

  • Collaborate with key stakeholders, including Operations and Development, to define and manage the brand roadmap that will proactively meet guest and owner needs and develop winning business models/go-to-market strategies.

  • Create an open collaborative environment, which fosters positive energy, creativity, and strategic thought. Work in collaboration with direct reports to set objectives and targets; and assure proper training and development is provided to the entire revenue delivery organization.

What we need from you

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent International degree in Marketing or Business. MBA preferred.

Experience

  • Minimum 10-15 years experience in Marketing, Innovation, or Brand role.

  • Project management with budget responsibilities experience.

  • Experience in managing multi-partner relationships.

  • Hotel, Tourism, and Hospitality experience not essential, but preferred.

  • Resort property based operations, sales and marketing or a combination of both experience.

Required Skills

  • Exceptional strategic thinking with a proven ability to analyze markets, performance data, and business issues and draw insight/conclusions to drive and /or improve performance and drive revenue

  • Strong financial skills

  • Fluency and understanding of Brand Equity measurement and development.

  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the various markets, related economic and business factors, and hotel operations. Experience with industry and market trends.

  • Demonstrated project management experience in organizing, planning and executing large-scale projects from conception through implementation

  • Ability to work collaboratively with employees at all levels of the organization and establish and maintain strong relationships with strategic partners

  • Demonstrated people and business leadership skills

  • Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills and executive presence for providing information to executive team, business partners, owners, and other external partners

PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT

  • Majority of work is performed in a normal office environment.

  • Ability to travel a large percentage of the week required, as needed to facilitate business objectives (generally 25%-35%).

  • Ability to be accessible via computer and/or cell phone in case of emergency in area of responsibility is required.
