Job Summary

The Director and Finance Business Partner for Marketing and Guest Shared Service Centers leads Finance support for IHG's major marketing and advertising campaigns and guest programs in the hotels. Supported by two Managers, this role will oversee management and evaluation of Marketing ROI, optimizing Marketing spend as well as finance support for guest experiences with IHG brands. In addition to leading commercial finance and strategic projects, this role will be supported by a team of analysts providing day-to-day reporting and analytical support in IHG's Center of Excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Partner the development of the business strategy and proactively challenge priorities

  • Develop business cases to influence strategic resource allocation decisions (MEC / ROC)

  • Identify and drive longer-term cost & revenue optimization opportunities - Drive tactical performance interventions with the business to close gaps vs. plan and steer project delivery

  • Enhance commercial acumen by proactively engaging with business counterparts to understand business drivers and industry / competitive challenges

  • Partner (3-year) the strategic planning process, formal budget review process and quarterly forecast review process

  • Validate and present monthly / quarterly financial performance reports and commentary of high value business areas including transparency of risks and opportunities

  • Influence ROC decision-making applying knowledge from consolidating / analyzing risks & opportunities

  • Recommend improvement opportunities by benchmarking performance within / across regions

  • Influence commercial decision-making for major re-organizations

  • Partner the development of new innovations (including new brands, concepts and technologies)

  • Support the integration of acquisitions into IHG ways of working, processes and systems

Band 5 Competitive salary plus bonus potential

Your day to day

Education

Bachelors Degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Statistics, or a relevant field of work, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience.

Experience

  • 10+ years experience with Finance, Strategic and Business experience, with proven track record in Finance / Business Support and preference for understanding of Loyalty economics

  • Experience leading cross-functional teams, driving change, and challenging & communicating with senior leadership in a complex matrix organization

Technical Knowledge and Experience

  • Strong relationship management, verbal and written communication, and strategic thinking & analytical skills required

  • Ability to challenge the status quo, and have courage / conviction to ˜do the right thing

  • Ability to see the big picture, but possessing strong analytical/technical skills

  • Ability to sustain high impact, trusted relationships

  • Able to drive complex system process and cultural change

  • Ability to see connections between financial levers, anticipate un-intended consequences and spot commercial opportunities

  • Able to facilitate innovative approaches based on external thinking

  • Strong technical skills (e.g. Excel, PowerPoint)
