Your day to day
Coordinate the compilation of hotel/brand performance data with internal constituents and outside consultants. Maintain performance databases. Respond to inquiries about performance data and provide interpretation and analysis.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities – (Key Activities)
Maintain and coordinate internal performance databases. Research disparities in database information and synchronize database file information to ensure all databases are accurate.
Monitor continuous quality and integrity of data collection and reporting methodologies and provide input for improvements to those processes as needed. Utilize qualitative (back-checking) and quantitative (phone calls to properties/BSC) means to fact-check the completeness and accuracy of data.
Contribute to the evaluation and analysis of performance trends. Work with the Director and unit staff to formulate strategic and tactical responses to performance dynamics revealed via the analysis of performance data.
Respond to requests, inquiries, and problems from internal Company staff, including interpreting performance data, researching data sources and/or data integrity, and providing general performance program information as needed. Independently work with hotel managers, brand managers or company senior management to respond to data requests, identify trends in data for a particular hotel or segment, or provide additional performance information.
Perform uploads of periodic data received from vendors and internal sources on a daily/weekly/monthly basis. Generate reports as needed for Performance Strategy and Planning staff or senior management. Prepare report data for presentations, inserts into strategic planning reports, or other projects as needed.
Perform various audit checks on reports/analysis prepared by the unit before they are sent to stakeholders. Independently re-run database queries as needed and back-check the facts presented in analysis and reports for accuracy. Identify and resolve any discrepancies, notifying management of any changes made.
What we need from you
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing or a relevant field of work, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience.
2 – 5 years progressive work-related experience with demonstrated technical proficiency related to the position including database management and compiling reports.
Technical Skills and Knowledge –
Demonstrated proficiency in entering and maintaining confidential database information.
Demonstrated strong computer skills to include Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word) and relational databases, specifically MS Access, including advanced functions.
Demonstrated knowledge of Holidex, J-screens, FIS, SQL (Structured Query Language) and SAR desirable for the purpose of pulling/coordinating data from company databases in order to perform analyses or other reporting.
Demonstrated clear, concise and succinct communication skills, including adapting both verbal and written communication to the needs and level of user.
Demonstrated ability to maintain a consistent, high quality customer-focused orientation, including providing clear, accurate information; explaining procedures or materials or providing supplemental information; anticipating problems or questions.
Demonstrated analytical skills and ability to use the results of analysis to make effective strategic decisions.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and efficiently, and to perform concurrent tasks that require technical and functional competence.
Knowledge of hospitality industry preferred.
