InterContinental Sydney Double Bay is located in Sydney's exclusive leafy green Eastern Suburbs. After a multi-million dollar refurbishment the 140 room luxury hotel is looking for a Director of Finance & Business Support to lead our experienced and sophisticated Finance & Business Support team at InterContinental Sydney Double Bay.

Reporting to the General Manager and the Regional Director of Finance & Business Support, you will direct the financial operations of the hotel to ensure the security of hotel assets. Report to GM’s and owners on financial state of hotel and make recommendations to improve hotel profitability. Serve as primary contact for all hotel financial - and accounting-related issues with owners, auditors (internal and external) and regulatory agencies. You'll supervise all members of the Finance & Business Support Department, provide functional guidance to Executive Committee and Department Heads, interact with hotel's legal counsel, insurance companies, tax consultants, auditors, and commercial and government banks to effectively control the assets of the business and to provide business support.

You will also assist and provide financial guidance in the formulation and implementation of Strategic Plan, Budget and KPO's, Cash flow projection and performance through controls on inventory, credit and collection, disbursements, deposits and remittances as well as the monthly preparation of actual results against budget, analyse results and recommend to Executive Committee measures required to meet budget as well as prepare periodic consolidated position assessments for the General Manager.


Ideally you'll have a Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or Commerce (or equivalent) with Certified Practising Accountant (CPA) qualifications preferred. You'll have a minimum of 8 years in Finance with at least 4 years in a Management position. You'll have great communication and negotiation skills, excellent knowledge of the hotel business and hotel accounting software.
