IHG Food & Beverage Team Member - Crowne Plaza Kensington in London, United Kingdom


Under the general guidance and supervision of your head of department and within the limits of established InterContinental Hotel Group (IHG) policies & procedures, to support the Food and Beverage team by performing duties including: serving guests, mis en place and preparation, set up of functions, set up of food and beverage equipment and assisting with the preparation of service. Key Job Responsibilities

  • High levels of guest service.

  • Mise en place / food and beverage preparation.

  • Assist with receiving and storage of goods.

  • Maintain good food safety, hygiene standards and practices.

  • Assists with preparations for food and beverage functions and service.

  • Assists with cellar operations

  • Assists with the preparation of a food and beverage outlet for service including :

  • Cleaning of equipment

  • Cleaning and maintaining glassware and china for service

  • Preparation of waiter service stations

  • Preparation of Tables

  • Establishes and maintains effective employee working relationships.

  • Attends and participates in daily briefings and other meetings as scheduled.

Self Management

  • Gain understanding of the departmental goals and financial targets.

  • Comply with hotel rules and regulations and provisions contained in the employment handbook.

  • Comply with company grooming and uniform standards.

  • Comply with timekeeping and attendance policies.

  • Actively participate in training and development programmes and maximise opportunities for self development.

Customer Service

  • Demonstrate service attributes in accordance with industry expectations and company standards to include:-

  • Being attentive to guests

  • Accurately and promptly fulfilling guest requests

  • Understand and anticipate guest needs

  • Maintain a high level of knowledge which will enhance the guest experience

  • Demonstrate a service attitude that exceeds expectations

  • Take appropriate action to resolve guest complaints

  • Appreciate the dynamic nature of the hotel industry and extend these service attributes to all internal customers.

  • Be able to promote the hotel (and IHG generally) products and services.

  • Maintain a high level of product and service knowledge about all IHG hotels in your region.

  • Ensure known repeat guests, priority members and other VIP’s receive special attention.


Previous experience within a hotel environment would be advantageous for this role, as well

  • excellent spoken and written command of the English language, other languages are beneficial

  • All applicants must be able to work varying shifts including night, weekends and bank holidays.

  • You must meet the legal requirements to work in the UK.
