the moment, we are looking for a Director of Conventions to join our enthusiastic, warm and friendly Sales
Marketing team at Crowne Plaza Dubai .
As the Director of Conventions , you will develop
and implement revenue sales and marketing strategies for the hotel to ensure
plans are implemented, results are monitored and sales goals are achieved.
Regularly sell hotel rooms, meeting rooms, and food and beverage through direct
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Achieve budgeted revenues andpersonal/team sales goals and maximise profitability. Participate in thepreparation of the annual departmental operating budget, the hotel marketingplan and business plan, and financial plans.
Create and implement salesplans that drive measureable incremental occupancy, increase average rates,increase volume, food and beverage and banquet sales.
Produce monthly reports andsales forecasts to analyse current/potential market and sales trends,coordinate activities to increase revenue and market share and monitorperformance to ensure actual sales meetor exceed established revenue plan
Prepares Conference &Events annual budget, Strategies and Departmental manning.
Shares responsibility forachieving revenue goals, guest and team’s satisfaction and thefinancial performance of the department.
Engages the team to createinnovative sales approach to drive sales across segments. (Social, MICE,Weddings, Exhibitions, Corporate and Leisure Groups, Residential and NonResidential Meetings, Outside Catering and Associations)
Collaborates in formulating andimplementing tactical and strategic plans.
Tracks and measures business onthe books, booking trend and market performance and adjust sales strategieswhen necessary.
Involves and directs the teamin setting short/long term strategies.
Evaluates and capitalizes onevery opportunity to ensure business retention and increase business portfolio.
Constantly raises performanceexpectations and develops procedures.
Grows sales throughcollaborating with various sales activities in discovering new businesspotential.
Utilize networks of companybrands to maximize business potential within the company.
Manage day-to- day salesactivities, plan and assign work, and establish performance and developmentgoals for team members. Provide mentoring, coaching and regular feedback tohelp manage conflict, improve team member performance, and recognise goodperformance.
Educate and train sales teamthat is responsible for developing new accounts, maintaining existing accounts,and implementing sales strategies. Ensure staff is properly trained and has thetools and equipment to carry out job duties.
Work with other departmentmanagers to ensure proper staffing levels based on guest volume.
Develops, coaches, trains and mentors Conventions Sales team.
Partners with Human Resources to attract, develop and retain the rightpeople.
Sets KPO (Key Performance Objectives) for C&E team.
Responsible for Conventions Sales Team Annual performancereview
Provide guests with information(example: loyalty programmes, area attractions, restaurants, facilityinformation) to enhance guest experience.
Develop and maintainrelationships with key clients and outside contacts in order to produce groupand/or convention business, to include room sales, food & beverage sales,and catering/banquet services.
Schedule conventions and/orbusiness group activities at the hotel and coordinate with other hotel leveldepartments to facilitate services agreed upon by the sales office andprospective clients
Understands anddiscuss client’s feedback to constantly improve service and discoverpossible opportunities.
Interacts effectively withguests/clients, sales and kitchen, vendors, competitors, local community, andother hotel departments in order to monitor guest satisfaction
Identify operational problemsthat reduce the effectiveness of marketing activities and overall hotel salesperformance and work with appropriate departments on solutions.
Develop awareness andreputation of the hotel and the brand in the local community
This is the top sales and marketing job in
a full or limited service hotel and may include meeting space and/or catering
facilities. May manage professional level and administrative sales team
Bachelor’s degree / higher education
qualification / equivalent in marketing or related field, and two to four years
of experience in a hospitality or hotel sales and marketing setting, or an
equivalent combination of education and work experience. Must speak local
language. Other languages preferred.
