Job Overview

Under the generalguidance and supervision of the Director of Sales & Marketing; incoordination within the limits of established IC Hotels policies procedures and Sales Manager manual,oversees and implements all Event sales activities in his/her specific area ofresponsibility.

Asan Events Sales Manager, you will be responsible in assuring highestdegree of guest satisfaction by ensuring guests' needs and requests which areaddressed promptly during internal and external functions. Plan, Directand Coordinate the Banquets and Catering function and also assist banquets& outside Catering service staff on different client complaints and requests.

Place of Work

Crowne Plaza and Holiday Inn Doha The Business Park. The Company may temporarily post you to another IHG hotel /department after discussing the suitability and domestic arrangements with you. You may on occasion be required to travel both in Qatar and overseas in connection with the employment.

Duties and Responsibilities

Responsible for Small to Medium sizedEvents / Groups as approved by the Assistant Director of Sales Events

Assemble and distribute consistent,concise group resumes and banquet event orders that clearly represent aconvention's every requirement for all departments

Work closely with the client and keyhotel departments throughout the duration of their conference, being availableto assist them at the appropriate times, driving excellent MSS scores

Responsible for the successful outcomeof assigned programs from pre-arrival through to post-departure

Attend and Chair Pre ConferenceMeetings as required

Work closely with Revenue Manager toensure guestroom rate and DDR integrity

Work closely with the AssistantDirector of Sales - Events in the creation of new theme menus, special eventsand service standards

Ensure hotel costs are effectivelycontrolled

Work closely with the Field Sales& Banquet department to ensure all contractual terms agreed upon arecarried out (including the management of Guest Room Attrition and follow-up onDeposit Schedule)

Maintain the integrity of Opera Sales& Catering at all times

Oversee activities and guestexperience related to the appropriate delegate packages

Maintain files, records and reportingas it pertains to: budgets, contacts, planning activities, time lines,contracts, purchase orders and post meeting notes

Exceed corporate expectationsregarding BDRC and Signature secret shoppers

Ideally,you ll have a minimum two years demonstrate experience in a similar role in afive star hotel or comparable industry, ability to demonstrate working with andengaging teams from different cultures, strong verbal and written communicationskills along with being quality oriented with focus on details, highperformance standards, able to multi-task & meet deadlines and workingknowledge of Microsoft Office.
