This role will provide hands-on sales and marketing and sales assistance to Extended Stay property Director of Sales and General Managers in company-managed hotels. In conjuction with Regional Sales Directors, this position has responsibility to drive measurable, incremental revenue in Extended Stay hotels and will work with individual hotel teams to identify skill development areas, coordinate sales, marketing resources and uncover new opportunities for the extended stay business.
You must have demonstrated sales experience that includes; multi-hotel sales responsibilities and extended-stay hotel product and be experienced in strategy for properties in various market situations, such as; depressed market, new team development, maintaining markets as well as strong knowledge of marketing and sales principles. and have knowledge of hotel operations and working knowledge of hotel/HIW systems (i.e. HOLIDEX, Opera, etc.). We are looking for someone with In depth project management experience required, along with effective verbal and written communication skills for the purpose of providing information to clients, vendors, senior management and staff. Demonstrated ability to communicate supportive program details (presentation, analysis) to present a persuasive argument or effectively negotiate a position. Knowledge of training principles and procedures is an asset. Additionally, you must have experience with industry and market trends as they relate to revenue opportunities, and demonstrated ability to develop or manage programs to effectively drive revenue in a specific local market.
Requirements include a Bachelors or Masters Degree in Hotel Management, Business, or a relevant field of work is preferred. Alternatively, an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience in hotel operations. 8 years work experience, with at least 5 years hotel sales experience in a mid-sized property as a Director of Sales, and experience including the development and execution of tactical sales programs (business plans) as well as regional or multi-hotel corporate experience. You must have the ability to travel a large percentage of time required, as needed to facilitate business objectives and must be accessible via computer and/or cell phone in case of emergency in area of responsibility.
Ability to travel 80-90% required.
