The Manager - HR & Training will serve as Human Resources & Training partner for the all the existing and pipeline HIEX Hotels under the Duet portfolio. This profile requires frequent travel to hotels to ensure HR & Training processes are in line with below mentioned scope.

This job involves overseeing the Human Resources functions, including but not limited to the below:

  • Talent Acquisition and Talent Management

  • Performance Management

  • Compensation and Benefits

  • Employee Relations

  • Reward & Recognition Programs

  • Learning and Development

  • Statutory Obligations

The above need to be aligned to the SWA IHG policies and ways of working.

The objective is to build and promote a positive work culture* to ensure that our guest experience is unique and we bring our brands to life. The position will need to advise the General Managers and Hotel leadership team on all people-related issues.

Duties and responsibilities

Financial returns:

  • Monitor PTEB ( Payroll, Taxes and Employee Benefits) cost and ensure that the same are within specified / budgeted parameters. Initiate corrective measures and mid-course correction where needed.

People:

  • Talent Acquisition: Ensure that hotel or company hiring standards and governmental regulations are followed in a timely, manner for recruiting and selection processes.

  • Colleague Induction and Orientation: Conduct new team member orientation by providing information on hotel / company standards, policies and procedures. Educate them on reward, recognition and benefit programs as also growth and development opportunities at IHG.

  • Talent Management: Educate and train leaders and employees on various topics, including performance management system, progressive disciplinary processes, employee engagement programs, Compensation and Benefit schemes, Career development etc. to foster engagement and drive productivity performance.

  • Transactional HR: Including but not limited all functions of personnel management, salary management, discipline management, vendor management etc. in compliance with the State, Hotel or Company rules and policies.

Guest experience:

  • Implement and recommend guest service strategies that focus to engage colleagues to respond to the changing guest needs.

  • Work with department managers to develop initiatives to achieve service behavior standards and drive continuous improvement in the guest experience.

Responsible business:

  • Statutory Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant labour and employment laws of the state that govern the hotel/s.

  • Ensure compliance of all hotel and company policies and procedures.

  • Collect and maintain data from employee engagement surveys, exit interviews, turnover statistics, absenteeism reports etc. to identify trends, training needs and supervisory issues. Initiate corrective action where needed.

  • In an Industrial relations dispute, responsibly manage labor relations and represent the hotel in grievance handling forums, mediations, arbitrations and contract negotiation.

  • Ensure that there is no risk to reputation and highlight apprehensions to the senior management on priority.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and requirements

•Bachelor’s degree / higher education qualification / equivalent

•Minimum of 4 to 7 years of experience in HR with a preference of at least 3 years at hotel level

•Good understanding of Employee Relation practices in the operating markets

•Ability to deal effectively with key stakeholders and colleagues across diverse cultures and geographies

•Strong project management and organizational skills

•Learning and Development delivery skills

•Good level of business knowledge, change management, and issue resolution

•Preferably a good knowledge of IHG Human Resources systems, policies and processes
