IHG Americas’ Regional Corporate Office is centrally

located at the beautiful Ravinia Complex just outside Atlanta’s Perimeter

(I-285), offering a convenient commute from all areas of Metro Atlanta. In

Job Summary

This role ensures that IHG’s

strategy is delivered efficiently and effectively in the Americas by linking

the activities in the business to the strategy, aligning initiatives across different

functions, and establishing and enforcing standards to promote high-quality

delivery. In this role, the individual

will lead a team of project leaders and project support personnel responsible

for the development and execution of short and long-range initiatives and the successful

implementation of new processes, programs, and/or systems to deliver high

impact results against IHG’s winning metrics.

Additionally this role is responsible for:

  • Identifyingand implementing project management best practices across multi-functional areas

  • Settingand monitoring standards for delivering projects

  • Buildinga community of project managers across IHG

  • Reportingto the Americas' Region Operating Committee (ROC) on the status of majorprojects

  • Trainingand coaching project managers and participants

  • OverseeingProject Management and Project Portfolio Governance efforts in theAmericas region

  • Performinghealth checks to confirm project status as needed

Essential Duties andResponsibilities

  • Responsible for project management and business integration on major initiatives such as system implementation, process innovation, acquisition integration, relationship management.

  • Design and develop project management tools and reports to facilitate communication and alignment of multiple teams across both IHG and clients/vendors/partnerships.

  • Build strong knowledge and fluency of the terms, requirements, decision rights, and operational expectations needed to consistently deliver strategic change across the business.

  • Support and/or lead implementation of select strategic initiatives, including oversight of pilot testing, analysis, enhancements, implementation, sourcing, etc.

  • Provide thought leadership for key project scoping across the region.

  • In partnership with Strategy and ROC, develop America’s Delivery Plan for efficiently and effectively bringing IHG’s strategy to life.

  • Set standards for project delivery, in conjunction with the Global Strategic Program Management group, ensuring that planned projects and initiatives are delivered to the agreed standards and quality.

  • Monitor delivery of all strategic initiatives, while working with business owners to identify risks, issues and mitigating actions. Report progress to the ROC, escalating risks and issues, and identifying decisions required at that level.

  • Partner with the Global Strategic Program Management group to help establish an overall “delivery philosophy” at IHG.

  • Contribute to the definition of governance processes and requirements for specific projects and initiatives where the scale, complexity, and / or strategic importance warrant custom governance solutions.

  • Coach and develop team members; hire, fire, assess, discipline, document performance, recommend salary and classification changes. Act as an advisor to subordinate managers or staff to help meet established schedulesand/or resolve technical or operational problem

Qualifications

Education

Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Hospitality

Management, Marketing, Industrial Engineering, Management, or a related field

of work, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related

experience. MBA education strongly

preferred.

Experience

  • 10 years progressive work related experience in project management, business implementation, strategic project leadership, or project governance.

  • Advanced experience in managing complex initiatives.

  • Demonstrated proficiency in multiple disciplines, including but not limited to process/program redesign, organizational change management, training program development, and project / program management.

Technical

Skills and Knowledge

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to take complex information and present to all levels of management, staff, clients and vendors.

  • Understanding of diverse company policies, products, markets, processes, platforms, hotel operations and technology applications as well as a strong understanding of business principles and practices.

  • Demonstrated experience in supporting corporate strategies through the development of cross-functional solutions from a commercial and financial viewpoint.

  • Demonstrated skills in developing managing the development of technical solution models that satisfy identified business needs/requirements.

  • Demonstrated project management experience in organizing, planning and executing large-scale projects from conception through implementation.

  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and draw conclusions from complex financial, statistical and marketing/sales data.

  • Strong consultative skills and demonstrated ability to achieve corporate business objectives across functional boundaries.

  • Demonstrated ability to develop and lead high-performing teams
