Our Americas Corporate office, based in Atlanta, Georgia , is currently seeking a Strategy Manager . As a member of the global strategy team, the Strategy Manager position will work closely with the VP Strategy and the Americas strategy team to deliver insightful and company-leading analyses of IHG, markets, and competitors required to evolve and drive execution of IHG's global strategy. This position will be required to use rigorous analytical and financial modeling skills to construct frameworks and business models to support the creation of long range plans, analyze key issues facing the company, and recommend answers to complex business questions that enable long-term revenue and profit growth.

Job Summary

As a member of Americas regional strategy

team, the Strategy Manager will work closely with other members of the strategy

team as well as leaders across the business to develop, execute, and deliver

strategies to enable the Americas region to achieve our Winning growth metrics

and IHG’s ambition of becoming the #1 hotel company for owners, guests, and

employees. The Strategy Manager will use rigorous

analytical and financial modeling skills to construct frameworks and business

models to support the creation of short and long range plans, analyze key

issues facing the company, and recommend answers to complex business questions

that enable revenue and profit growth.

Essential Duties andResponsibilities(Key Activities)

  • Enablestrategy team members and project leaders to deliver the highest value growthinitiatives by providing analytical support, problem insight, and elements ofproject management

  • Build/maintain/leverageappropriate financial, market, industry, and consumer models to supportplanning and analysis work, including leveraging work developed by the globalstrategy team and data sources from elsewhere in the organization

  • Provideleadership for work streams within larger strategy projects

  • Buildkey relationships with colleagues in other departments and collaborate on dataanalysis and strategic initiatives

  • AssistDirector and Vice President of Strategy with annual business planning processand tracking of performance metrics to deliver base plan and key growthinitiatives

  • Developpresentations to support strategy discussions at the Americas OperatingCommittee, project Steering Committees, and occasionally Board of Directorsmeetings

  • Maintain/integrate/leveragecurrent information sources of competitor intelligence and industry trends,including ongoing analysis leading to new insights for senior management

Qualifications

REQUIREDQUALIFICATIONS

Education

Bachelor’s

degree in Business, Strategy, Finance or a relevant field of work, or an

equivalent combination of education and work-related experience. MBA preferred.

Experience

Likely to be 6-8 years in progressive work experience in strategy, consultancy, or finance, or 2-4 years corporate level experience with exposure to a broad range of strategy issues.

Skills and Knowledge

  • Demonstratedstrategic thinking through a proven ability to analyze markets, performancedata, and business issues and draw insight/conclusions

  • Financialmodeling/analysis and understanding of basic finance principles

  • Stronginterpersonal skills required to build relationships across business units forcollaboration, data requests, and joint analysis

  • Understandingof hotel industry dynamics and economics desirable but not required

  • Highdegree of accountability and personal responsibility

  • Interestin longer-term career progression within strategy team and within broader IHG

  • Ableto gain credibility with executives and senior managers in the organization

  • Strongself-motivation and ability to plan time/priorities

Other Information

Demonstrated strategic thinking through a proven ability to analyze markets, performance data, and business issues and draw insight/conclusions along with in depth financial modeling/analysis (DCF, NPV, accounting) experience, and basic finance principles. Ability to work in global function with "virtual" network of members in Singapore and London. Understanding of hotel industry dynamics and economics desirable but not required. Ability to travel globally (approximately 15%).
