Job Summary (Role Summary)

As part of the Americas External Corporate Communications team, the Corporate Communications Manager will develop communication strategies and implement programs that are aligned with business objectives and drive effective delivery of messages that enhance and protect the company s reputation among key stakeholders. This person will ensure communications activities are aligned with regional and global priorities and partner with assigned business functions to serve as trusted communications consultant. A key area of focus for this role will be to lead the company s corporate social responsibility communications strategy in the Americas.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Key Activities)

Partner with assigned senior executives and teams to devise and execute communications programs and strategies to support the company s strategic objectives

Lead company s corporate social responsibility communications strategy in the Americas, positioning company as a leader within industry and beyond

Protect company s reputation through effective issues management and crisis communications; provide support to operations field teams and/or individual hotels during crisis and issues, as needed

Serve as a company spokesperson

Build deep relationships with media, influencers, bloggers, analysts and other external stakeholders; research and develop unique content, conduct proactive media outreach and strategic story development and respond to and evaluate inbound media inquiries

Manage a broad range of proactive and reactive projects and coordinate across the broader Americas External Corporate Communications team

Write and edit corporate press releases, media kit materials, briefs, and other communications materials and develop key messaging for various corporate initiatives

Partner effectively with colleagues in brand PR and internal communications within the region and the global communications team to ensure maximum alignment and integration on programs and individual media opportunities

Manage any outside vendors, including external PR agencies to support execution of PR program

Drive the performance mindset of the team through a focus on measurement and regular research and knowledge sharing of the company s key competitors and travel industry as a whole




Bachelor s or Master s Degree in a Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, English, Marketing, Advertising, or similar relevant field required, or an equivalent combination of education and work related experience.


Candidate should have at least seven years of progressive work-related experience, preferably including roles within a corporate and an agency setting, with demonstrated proficiency related to the position. Specific experience in corporate social responsibility communications is preferred.

Technical Skills and Knowledge

Demonstrated strong writing, communication and interpersonal skills.

Crisis communications and issues management, advocacy group and industry association relationship management

Experience is social media for business use

Demonstrated ability to exercise discretion in handling confidential information

Demonstrated excellence in preparing clear and concise written business communications for all types and levels of audiences

Must possess excellent time and project management and organizational skills

Strong customer-focus orientation

Demonstrated ability to influence and communicate with all levels of management and employees

Strong business focus with ability to think strategically (3-5 years out) and research pertinent business trends

Must have the legalright to work in this country
